SACRED PLACES OF WORSHIP 

Srisailam

Srisailam has great reverence in the minds of Hindu devotees in India as it is one of the most sacred places of Worship. Srisailam has the shrine of Lord Mallikarjuna, which is one of the oldest shrines in Southern India and was built in the 1st century A.D. The Srisailam Shrine is within the Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh and was built on top of the Nallamala flat top hills, which is a natural geological formation. It is considered as one of the eighteen Shaktipeethas of India and the Mallikarjuna Swamy temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva.
